The Group Indirect Tax Lead is responsible for overseeing all indirect tax matters across the organization, including VAT, GST, and other sales taxes, spanning multiple jurisdictions. The role ensures full compliance with local and international tax regulations while developing and executing tax strategies that optimize the group's tax position and manage risk.

This position plays a critical advisory role to senior leadership and business stakeholders, managing audits and disputes with tax authorities, driving process efficiency through automation and technology, and ensuring indirect tax considerations are embedded into business decisions. Ultimately, the role supports business objectives by maintaining compliance, minimizing risk, and enabling scalable, efficient tax operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all indirect tax compliance activities (VAT, GST, and sales taxes) across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
• Provide strategic indirect tax advice and develop tax planning strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on operations and tax position.
• Manage indirect tax audits, disputes, and regulatory interactions, identifying and mitigating tax risks.
• Design and maintain effective internal controls to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Act as the primary indirect tax lead, partnering with Finance, Legal, Operations, and senior stakeholders.
• Drive process optimisation through automation, tax technology, and data analytics to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and industry bodies, representing the organization as required.
• Advance the use of tax technology and analytics to strengthen compliance and reporting.
• Increase strategic involvement to align tax strategy with broader business initiatives
• Build cross-functional expertise across finance, legal, and operations.
• Stay current on global indirect tax trends, regulations, and emerging risks.
• Strengthen audit, risk management, and external stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inAccounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.
• Professional qualification such asCA, ACCA, CPA, or CTA.
• 8+ years' experience inindirect tax(VAT/GST) within a group, multinational, or advisory environment.
• Strong experience managingmulti-jurisdictional compliance, audits, and tax risk.
• Solid understanding oftax technology, ERP systems, and process automation.
• Middle East VAT experiencepreferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills.
