POSITION SUMMARY:
The Global Sourcing Director is responsible for the selection and management of key supplier partners through the execution of commodity sourcing strategies and effective supplier development. This role is tasked with establishing a premier supply base, providing Avtron with best-in-class quality, cost, and delivery in support of a world class supply chain organization. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining long-term competitive advantage across assigned commodities by negotiating and executing long-term agreements, administering supplier scorecards, and successfully delivering aggressive cost reduction goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Utilizes effective planning and project management skills to develop robust commodity strategies, including identifying strategic partners (domestic and international).

Responsible for aggressive annual purchased material cost-reduction targets across global spend categories.

Develops and executes long-term supplier strategies, including cost modeling, opportunity assessments, financial analysis, negotiations, continuous performance improvement, and relationship development.

Negotiates long-term agreements with best-in-class pricing, payment terms, quality, and delivery performance in alignment with corporate objectives.

Leads sourcing initiatives in support of Design for Value and Value Add/Value Engineering (VA/VE) for new and existing products.

Coordinates and supports on-site supplier assessments, certification audits, and continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing total cost and improving supplier quality.

Ensures sourcing strategies are in place to meet aggressive New Product Development (NPD) launch timelines.

Leads global import/export operations and trade compliance, ensuring adherence to U.S. and international regulations, accurate HTS/ECCN classification, proper documentation, customs clearance, and effective internal controls that reduce regulatory, financial, and supply-chain risk.

Develops and executes strategies to optimize total landed cost and mitigate tariff/regulatory exposure, including tariff engineering, FTAs, duty drawback, geopolitical monitoring, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration to support cost reduction, supply continuity, and compliant global sourcing.

Manages and categorizes supplier grow, maintain, and exit plans.

Manages relationships with senior leadership at key suppliers.

Performs root-cause analysis on supplier delivery and quality issues and implements corrective actions through supplier improvement plans.

Supports business unit purchasing teams in maintaining accurate lead times within SAP.

Assesses supplier capacity and conducts risk assessments.

Manages the supplier scorecard process for key suppliers.

Supports inventory-reduction initiatives and Lean programs such as VMI, Kanban, and Consignment.

Identifies new or alternate sources of supply to support NPD, cost-reduction efforts, and supplier-performance needs.

Evaluates medium- and long-term supplier capabilities to optimize the commodity supply base in alignment with aggregation and spend-rationalization objectives.

Performs necessary duties to support corporate goals related to supplier quality, cash flow, inventory objectives, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Maintains strong working knowledge of key commodity trends, including industry shifts, cost drivers, global pricing, material lead times, and relevant technical/manufacturing processes.

Develops, writes, edits, and maintains standard work for sourcing and procurement processes.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 10-15 years progressive global sourcing experience, preferably within manufacturing operations

Understanding of Supply Chain Management and sourcing best practices

Advanced user of SAP, Excel, power point, and databases

Advanced analytical and presentations skills desired

BA/BS in Business, Operations or Supply Chain Management required

Ability to multi-task, handling quick turnaround

Ability to identify problem issues and escalate and/or execute acceptable solutions

Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, suppliers and employees/managers at all levels within the company
