GM/ Manager - Project

Lead-Projects– MEP is responsible for leading the MEP function on major projects, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems are designed, procured, installed, commissioned and handed over to specifications. This role ensures project delivery on time, within budget, with required quality, safety, and compliance to codes and standards, while managing teams, vendors, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

Provide leadership, vision, and direction for the MEP department across projects.

Define and implement MEP delivery strategy: design management, procurement, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Build, mentor, and manage high-performing multidisciplinary MEP teams.

Project Planning & Execution

Oversee the full project lifecycle for MEP, from concept/pre-construction through to handover.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resources, risk registers, and quality & safety plans.

Ensure design coordination (architectural, structural, services), drawing reviews, BOQ, value engineering, constructability reviews.

Technical Oversight

Ensure MEP systems are designed and executed to meet local regulations, codes and client requirements.

Oversee technical disciplines: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, ELV/IBMS etc.

Ensure quality assurance, quality control throughout installation and commissioning.

Procurement & Contracts

Manage contracts with consultants, vendors, subcontractors. Monitor supplier performance.

Finalize specifications, material submittals, ensure cost effectiveness.

Cost & Budget Management

Prepare, monitor, control budgets. Forecast costs. Ensure profitability of projects.

Billing & collections (where applicable). Control wastage and optimize resources.

Safety, Quality, Compliance

Embed safety culture; ensure all EHS norms adhered to

Ensure compliance with building codes, fire codes, environmental regulations etc.

Stakeholder Management

Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, vendors, regulatory authorities.

Manage expectations, progress reporting, meetings.

Continuous Improvement

Review and enhance processes/methods, apply lessons learned.

Keep updated with MEP technology trends (BIM, sustainable systems, energy efficiency) and integrate as required.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / MEP Engineering (or equivalent). Master’s or specialized certifications (e.g. in HVAC, Fire protection, Energy efficiency) preferred.

10‑20+ years in MEP projects, with several years in leadership roles. Hands‑on experience in delivering large (commercial / infrastructure / hospitality / multi‑storey) projects.

Deep understanding of MEP systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, ELV/IBMS). Proficiency in design and modelling tools e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM. Knowledge of codes/standards (local and international) e.g. NFPA, IS, NBC etc

Pay: Up to ₹1,500,000.00 per year
