1. OPD Handling:
- Assist ophthalmologists during patient consultations and minor ophthalmic procedures.
2. Operation Theatre (OT) Assistance:
- Prepare the OT for ophthalmic surgeries (e.g., cataract, glaucoma, corneal, or retinal procedures).
- Ensure sterilization and readiness of surgical instruments and equipment (microscopes, phaco machines, etc.).
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations, maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs pre- and post-operatively.
- Handle surgical specimens, solutions, and medication accurately.
- Maintain OT records, sterilization logs, and stock registers.
3. Patient Care and Documentation:
- Provide nursing care following ophthalmic protocols.
- Support patients with eye dressings, postoperative instructions, and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate patient records and report to the nursing in-charge or doctor.
- Ensure patient comfort, confidentiality, and safety at all times.
- Prepare examination rooms, instruments, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., slit lamp, tonometer).
- Record patient history, visual acuity, and vital signs.
- Administer eye drops, ointments, and prescribed medications.
- Educate patients on medication schedules, post-consultation care, and follow-up visits.
- Maintain cleanliness, sterility, and infection control in OPD areas.
- Manage patient flow and ensure proper documentation and billing coordination.
