Job Summary
The Golf Course General Manager is responsible for the overall management, operation, and financial performance of the golf course facility. This role oversees all departments including golf operations, course maintenance, food & beverage outlets, pro shop, events, and customer service to ensure exceptional guest experiences and efficient business operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the golf course, clubhouse, pro shop, and related facilities.
- Ensure the golf course is maintained to high standards in coordination with the Course Superintendent.
- Monitor tee time management, member services, tournaments, and guest activities.
2. Financial Management
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and operational expenses.
- Monitor revenue streams including memberships, green fees, tournaments, events, and food & beverage.
- Implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
3. Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise department heads and staff.
- Foster a professional and service-oriented work environment.
- Conduct staff evaluations and ensure compliance with company policies.
4. Guest & Member Experience
- Ensure high standards of customer service for members and guests.
- Address complaints, feedback, and special requests in a professional manner.
- Develop programs and promotions to enhance member satisfaction.
5. Event & Tournament Management
- Plan and oversee golf tournaments, corporate outings, and social events.
- Coordinate with event planners, sponsors, and vendors.
- Ensure smooth execution of all golf and clubhouse events.
6. Marketing & Business Development
- Promote memberships, golf packages, and events to increase revenue.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns.
- Build relationships with corporate clients and local communities.
7. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental practices.
- Maintain proper documentation and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in golf course management, club management, or hospitality leadership.
- Strong knowledge of golf operations, turf management coordination, and clubhouse operations.
- Excellent leadership, financial management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple departments and operational priorities.
