Google Business Profile (GBP) Optimization Expert

About the Role

You'll own the local search presence of our clients end to end. From audit to execution, you'll be the person who spots what's broken, builds a clear strategy, and delivers results that are visible in rankings, calls, and footfall.
We're not looking for someone who just "manages" a profile. We need someone who understands the full picture — why rankings shift, how the algorithm behaves, and what actually moves the needle for local businesses.

What You'll Be Doing

• Auditing and fully optimizing GBP listings with a strategic, not just technical, approach
• Identifying ranking opportunities through competitor analysis and local search data
• Managing reviews at scale — including review strategy, response quality, and reputation trends
• Creating GBP posts and content that actually support visibility, not just fill a calendar
• Working with categories, service areas, attributes, and structured data to maximize profile strength
• Monitoring performance through GBP Insights, Search Console, and third-party tools — and turning that data into clear client reports
• Flagging and resolving GBP suspensions, spam listings, and guideline violations
• Keeping up with local search updates and proactively adjusting strategy when needed

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience managing GBP for multiple clients or locations
• Strong grasp of local SEO signals — proximity, relevance, prominence, and how they interact
• Experience with tools like BrightLocal, Whitespark, GBP API, or similar
• Ability to read data critically and translate it into actionable recommendations
• Someone who takes ownership — you don't wait to be told something is off, you catch it first
• Clear communication skills, especially when explaining performance to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience handling multi-location brands or franchise accounts
• Familiarity with citation building, local link strategies, or review acquisition
• Basic understanding of how GBP integrates with broader organic and maps strategy
