Government Affairs and Admin Officer

DarkVision is looking for a Government Affairs and Admin Officer to join the team. You will be based out of DarkVision's new Damman office in Saudi Arabia reporting to DarkVision's Director of Operations, this role combines core GRO duties along with administrative activities needed to expand DarkVision's unique technology in Saudi and GCC markets.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to multitask and think creatively. You'll be working with Operations, HR, Finance and Sales, and you'll often be working on critical tasks like logistics, operations and government relationship management. A successful candidate in this role will play a part in DarkVision's continued expansion into the Saudi and other GCC market, with opportunities for increased responsibilities and growth

You'll be a key part of our growing Middle East based team at DarkVision, a fast-growing tech company which is developing new products and entering new markets in the GCC. As such, the work is fast paced, interesting, and we promise you'll never have a dull day! To succeed in this role, you'll need to be personable, flexible and a great communicator, as you will be taking on a both routine and unexpected tasks that help scale the business in the region

What You Will Do

Requirements:

  • Government Relations: You'll be managing the various government portals and keeping the corporation in good standing.
  • Logistics, Operations and Office Management: This role will support the import and export of equipment, as well as procurement of equipment for the operations team. You will also manage the office, and ensure the facility is appropriately equipped for DarkVision's business activities.
  • Finance: You will play a key role in managing our accounts receivable and working closely with customers to build strong, long-term relationships. You will also support the annual audit process, and all required regulatory filings.
  • Adaptability and Ownership mindset : Our regional team is small and growing, with ambitious plans ahead. As such you'll need to do a wide variety of tasks and projects to help with that. Nothing will be above or below you.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Education/Experience: Exposure in a corporate environment, preferably with experience working in Government portals. Experience with Logistics will be considered an asset.
  • Language skills: Excellent written and verbal Arabic and English
  • Communication and Time Zones : This role thrives on proactive, cross-organizational collaboration. You'll be most successful if you enjoy building strong working relationships across teams and are comfortable reaching out to colleagues in different locations and time zones. If you prefer strictly a fixed 9-5 schedule, this position may not be the best fit.

Key Expectations:

  • Be available for evening calls with our Vancouver headquarters; typical hours are 8:00-11:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
  • The company will offer flexibility to help accommodate these evening hours and support work-life balance.
  • Some travel within the GCC and beyond will be required.
