The University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) Libraries invites applications from collaborative and innovative candidates for the position of Government Information and Collection Development Librarian! This tenure track faculty position serves as the Regional Coordinator for the Federal Depository Library Program for government documents and leads collection development for the State of Colorado government collections, the United Nations Collection, and international government documents. As the FDLP Regional Coordinator, this position will collaborate with the government documents community in the State of Colorado, work closely with collection staff to ensure access to the government documents collection, advise selective FDLP libraries on FDLP collection work, and ensure federal policy is followed. They also provide instruction, reference support, consultations, and outreach for Federal, State, and Local government collections. The librarian in this position is responsible for staying informed about changes in government information, particularly with respect to emerging technologies, trends in government information publishing, and Federal Depository Library policy and law. This is a collaborative position that works closely with other Libraries faculty and staff to promote a culture of assessment and user engagement with government information from the CU community and the public. This position may also serve as a subject liaison for assigned academic departments.
As a member of the University Libraries faculty, the Government Information and Collection Development Librarian will be expected to maintain a record of scholarly research/creative work, participate in professional service activities, and actively engage in faculty governance, in keeping with the tenure standards of the University of Colorado Boulder. A typical annual merit formula for tenure-track faculty is 40% librarianship, 40% research, and 20% service.
This position has the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity and reports to the Head of the Collection Development & Assessment Unit. The Collection Development & Assessment Unit is part of the Collection and Archival Strategy Department, which is part of the Research & Innovation Strategies Division.
