Government Relations Officer

Location

  • Karachi / Quetta & Rakhshan Division.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, International Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field will be desirable.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in government affairs, regulatory liaison, or public sector engagement, preferably within the mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Knowledge of Balochistan’s socio-economic and regulatory environment is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Pakistan’s federal and provincial government structures, laws, and approval processes.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Urdu; knowledge of regional languages is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with government and institutional stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of government procedures, protocols, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Skilled in drafting professional correspondence, reports, and briefing materials.
  • Cultural awareness, political sensitivity, and discretion in handling official matters.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Proactive, organized, and results-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant government offices and regulatory bodies.
  • Track and analyze policies, regulations, and legislation impacting RDMC operations.
  • Support the preparation and submission of permits, licenses, and compliance documents in coordination with internal departments.
  • Draft official correspondence, memos, briefing notes, and meeting summaries.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in meetings, site visits, and forums with government representatives.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of stakeholder contacts and engagement records.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams for timely renewals of legal and statutory approvals.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide timely alerts and recommendations.
  • Support reporting and documentation related to project activities.
  • Represent RDMC in local and provincial government forums as delegated.
