Role Summary
The Grade I Home Teacher at our Block 7 campus serves as the vital bridge between the Montessori Early Years foundation and the Cambridge Primary Framework. We are seeking a nurturing yet academically rigorous educator who can maintain the prepared environment of a Montessori classroom while delivering the structured learning objectives of the Cambridge curriculum. The ideal candidate will foster an inquiry-based atmosphere where students transition from concrete manipulative work to abstract academic concepts with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Pedagogical Execution & Planning
- Dual-Curriculum Integration: Design and implement lesson plans that align Cambridge Primary English, Mathematics, and Science standards with Montessori hands-on materials and self-directed learning.
- Prepared Environment: Maintain a classroom that reflects Montessori principles orderly, aesthetic, and equipped with didactic materials while integrating modern Cambridge resources.
Assessment & Classroom Management
- Holistic Monitoring: Conduct regular, detailed Montessori-style observations to track individual developmental milestones and social-emotional growth.
- Cambridge Standards: Administer and analyze internal assessments to ensure students are meeting the benchmarks required for future Cambridge Primary Checkpoints.
- Collaborative Leadership: Supervise and mentor a dedicated Teaching Assistant to ensure small-group rotations and individual lessons are executed effectively.
Technology & Material Work
- Material Mastery: Ensure the consistent use of Montessori materials (e.g., Golden Beads, Moveable Alphabet) alongside digital tools to provide a multi-sensory educational experience.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a relevant subject area.
- Certification: A recognized Montessori Diploma (AMI/AMS or equivalent) or specific Cambridge Primary training is highly preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience teaching at the Primary level, ideally within an international school setting.
- Tech Literacy: Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education and experience with interactive classroom hardware.
