Graduate Nursing Faculty - Bellin College

Location: 3201 Eaton Rd, Green Bay, WI 54311

Shift Hours:

1.00 FTE (40 hours/week), variable

Job Description:

The Graduate Nursing Program Faculty member for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program provides high-quality classroom, practicum, and clinical instruction for students enrolled in MSN, Certificate, and DNP programs. This role supports the College’s mission and strategic plan through curriculum development, student assessment, and the promotion of clinical judgment, decision-making, and professional growth. The faculty member maintains active APRN practice, demonstrates expert knowledge of FNP concepts, utilizes effective teaching and assessment strategies, and engages in scholarship, service, and professional activities. Collaboration with faculty, clinical partners, and the community, as well as an on-campus presence for face-to-face instruction, is essential to ensuring student success and program excellence.

Qualifications:

Education – Licensures: The Wisconsin Code and accreditation criteria together require that faculty:

  • Holds a Master's degree in nursing with clinical specialization appropriate to their area of teaching responsibility. A doctorate in nursing or a related field is preferred
  • Have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Wisconsin or Nurse Licensure Compact state. Licensure in a non-compact state may be required depending on student practica placements.

EXPERIENCE:

APRN faculty must have at least one year of advanced practice experience within their area of population-focus and maintain an active APRN practice. Non-APRN nursing faculty must have at least two years of full-time or equivalent direct care experience as a practicing nurse, be employed in nursing within the last five years. Experience with distance learning pedagogy is preferred. Knowledge: Knowledge and competence appropriate to the area of teaching responsibility are required. The College has identified the need for competency in applying principles of teaching and learning in teaching, curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. These competency requirements may be obtained through academic credit, continuing education offerings, or experience.

ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS:

There are many roles within which a faculty member is expected to perform. These require a wide range of knowledge and skills, some of which include: the ability to use teaching, learning, and curriculum development and evaluation principles; interpersonal skills, which include the use of group process and counseling/guidance principles; computer competency in word processing, file management, and internal/external e-mail; and leadership abilities which encompasses organizational skills, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
