Graduate Research Assistant

Overview:
A Graduate Research Assistant in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences supports faculty-led research focused on improving agricultural productivity, soil health, and environmental sustainability. The role involves designing and conducting field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments; collecting, managing, and analyzing agronomic and environmental data; and operating scientific instruments such as soil sensors, analytical lab equipment, and GIS-based tools. The assistant prepares outreach materials, contributes to field days and demonstrations, and helps translate scientific findings into practical recommendations. The position requires strong quantitative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to advance research in sustainable crop and soil management.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research related to graduate degree program
  • Assist with other research projects
  • Data collection and data analysis
  • Prepare written reports
  • Help maintain the laboratory
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field
  • Currently enrolled as an Auburn University graduate student
