POSITION SUMMARY & OVERALL OBJECTIVES
The Grant Writer is responsible for supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County's (BGCDC) grant revenue goals, working under the direction of the Director of Grants and Compliance. The candidate will conduct thorough research to find grant opportunities, write persuasive grant proposals to secure annual and multiyear funding, and collaborate with department heads to understand their financial and programming needs to ensure that we have sufficient resources to meet our annual objectives. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational and writing skills, be knowledgeable in project management principles, and have proven experience as a Grant Writer or in a similar role. The Grant Writer should also be flexible and adaptable, taking on additional responsibilities to support the organization's goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Sourcing and Writing: 75%
Administrative: 20%
Donor Relations: 5%

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support in achieving approximately $4M grant revenue to support BGCDC's mission, vision, and programs. Responsible for fiscal stewardship of grant funds.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal and external relationships are essential to the role.
Internal: As an integral part of our team, you will maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (both professional and volunteer), as well as your supervisor. This continuous communication ensures the seamless exchange of information, facilitates discussions on pertinent issues, clarifies guidelines and instructions, provides instruction and guidance, and offers counseling when necessary.
External: Externally, you will maintain contact as needed with various vendors, community groups, and other stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships and assist in resolving any issues that arise. Engaging with these external partners creates a supportive network for the organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals. The ability to clearly and concisely exchange/receive ideas, facts, and technical information with others. Physical abilities required include bending at the waist and reaching above the shoulder to maintain files, speaking and hearing to exchange information, and dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. The employee must be able to sit for extended periods. The employee will have extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, jumping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.

Required Hours
Typical working hours, including required holidays and travel.
This position is classified as non-exempt and full-time regular, requiring availability during operational hours (typically 9:00 AM-5:00 PM) to fulfill the essential duties of the role, which will include working on holidays, weekends, and evenings as necessary to support events. The position requires travel to off-site Clubs, meetings, and events.
