What We Are Looking For

The Grants and Philanthropy Partner will play an integral role in advancing SAC Health's mission through a combination of grant writing, grant management, donor stewardship, fundraising activities, and preparing the Executive Director, Philanthropy, for funder engagements. This position will be responsible for research and prioritization of funders and grant opportunities across all donor types, while also managing funder relationships, tracking deliverables to report on impact metrics, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

Schedule: 4days a week 10 hour days, Mon-Thur 7:00am -5:00pm | Location: Brier Clinic, San Bernardino, CA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES

  • Expand the portfolio of funders and donors to the organization through research, prospecting, soliciting, fundraising, and grant writing.
  • Implement a continuous donor engagement plan designed to achieve growth over previous years.
  • Research foundation and public opportunities that align with the organization's mission and funding priorities. This includes monitoring local, state, federal, and private announcements to be well-informed of funding opportunities.
  • Manage grant administration process, including reporting in accordance with funder requirements, grant reporting deadlines, and working with staff leads from multiple departments to ensure accurate reporting and contract compliance.
  • Support donor cultivation and retention, including meeting prep, follow-up, and drafting communications to current and potential donors.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising activities, and identifying new fundraising events and strategies.
  • Manage funding tracking tools and systems to keep records accurate and up to date.
  • Manage and lead funder and donor acknowledgment and appreciation processes, including tracking contact records and preparing tax letters.
  • Travel to other SAC Health clinics, offices or events as necessary; must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Fundraising, Philanthropy, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid CA Driver's License, and auto insurance. Preferred certifications include Fundraising Management (CFRM) or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in development, grants management, grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising required. Experience with Foundations, Health Resource and Services administration (HRSA), and federal grants, referral regulations and compliance preferred.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Proficiency in fundraising software and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is required, along with a strong understanding of financial management principles related to nonprofit organizations; excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans, are essential. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with donors and stakeholders, including keen attention to detail in reviewing donor proposals and managing donor relationships, and the ability to adapt to different communication styles and preferences of donors and stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, board members, staff, and other stakeholders, as well as strong negotiation and persuasion skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Essential Mental Abilities: Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to develop innovative fundraising strategies, analytical skills to evaluate fundraising performance and make data-driven decisions, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet fundraising targets.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.
