Job Summary:


The Graphic Design Intern / Contract Designer will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that supports Baldwin Supply’s sales and marketing efforts. This role focuses on producing professional graphic design deliverables including sales sheets, advertisements for industry publications, apparel designs, presentations, and event branding materials. The ideal candidate brings strong design skills and a creative eye—Baldwin’s team will provide coaching and context on the industrial distribution industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented designer to gain hands-on experience in a B2B environment while building a diverse portfolio.


Job Responsibilities:


Sales & Marketing Collateral

  • Design and produce professional sales sheets, product flyers, and one-pagers for the sales team
  • Create advertisements for industry trade publications and digital platforms
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations and templates for sales meetings, supplier business plans, and customer-facing pitches
  • Maintain and update existing marketing materials to ensure brand consistency

Apparel & Promotional Items

  • Design graphics for t-shirts, hats, jackets, and other branded apparel
  • Create artwork for promotional giveaways, calendars, and customer gifts
  • Prepare print-ready files and coordinate with vendors on apparel production

Events & Branding

  • Design event branding materials for trade shows, open houses, golf outings, and customer training events (e.g., GEAPS, PTDA, NIBA)
  • Create booth graphics, banners, signage, and table displays for trade show appearances
  • Design branded materials for the BSC Annual National Sales Meeting and other internal events
  • Develop digital assets for email campaigns, social media, and web use

Brand Management & Collaboration

  • Ensure all visual materials align with Baldwin Supply’s brand standards and professional image
  • Collaborate with account managers and sales leadership to understand design needs and project priorities
  • Work with suppliers to incorporate co-branded elements and leverage ad/promotional funds
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and deliver on deadline
  • Organize and maintain a library of design files, templates, and brand assets


Qualifications


Education and Experience:


  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills across print and digital media
  • Prior industry knowledge is not required—we will coach the right candidate on our business and industry


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or Canva
  • Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation design
  • Excellent eye for layout, typography, and color
  • Ability to translate complex technical or industrial content into clean, visually appealing designs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn about the industrial distribution industry


Physical Requirements / Work Conditions:


  • Minimal travel may be required for trade show or event support
  • The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Work is conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting.
