Graphic Designer

Role purpose

The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating high-quality visual designs, from initial concept to final execution, to support the organization’s branding, marketing, and business development goals. The role requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative design solutions that communicate the brand's identity and message effectively across various platforms. This includes creating promotional materials, digital content, and brand assets while ensuring alignment with the organization’s visual identity and strategic objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Design Development:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, creative briefs, and target audience.
  • Develop and present design concepts, mockups, and prototypes for feedback and approval.
  • Produce a wide range of visual assets, including logos, banners, brochures, social media graphics, packaging, websites, and print materials.

Brand Identity Management:

  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity for the organization across all platforms.
  • Create and update brand guidelines to ensure cohesive branding in all internal and external communications.
  • Collaborate with the Creative manager to evolve the brand’s visual identity as needed.

Creative Execution:

  • Design compelling and innovative solutions to meet marketing and business development objectives.
  • Work on projects across various mediums, including print, digital, video, and motion graphics.
  • Ensure high-quality output through attention to detail, precision, and adherence to project specifications.

Collaboration and Feedback:

  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and pitch creative ideas.
  • Collaborate with team members, including marketers, copywriters, and developers, to produce cohesive campaigns.
  • Incorporate feedback from managers, clients, and team members to refine designs and achieve project goals.

Tools and Technology:

  • Utilize designed editing software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects), IN Vision, Canva, and other relevant tools.
  • Stay updated on emerging design trends, techniques, and technologies to enhance creativity and productivity.

Time and Task Management:

  • Prioritize and manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain clear communication on project timelines and progress with stakeholders.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of design drafts and ensure alignment with project requirements and brand standards.
  • Prepare files for production, ensuring appropriate formats and resolutions for printing and digital platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with advertising agencies, account managers, and external vendors to deliver projection time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with web developers and content creators to ensure the seamless integration of design elements.

Innovation and Creativity:

  • Explore and implement innovative design solutions that spur business development and enhance brand engagement.
  • Develop creative ideas to improve user experiences and increase audience engagement across all platforms.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ROLE

Experience & qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in graphic designer a related role.

Knowledge & skills

  • Advanced proficiency in design and editing software, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, and XD.
  • Experience with prototyping tools such as IN Vision and Figma.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
  • Understanding of digital marketing and social media design trends.
  • Proficiency in creating motion graphics and basic video editing.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of print production processes and specifications.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles is a plus.
