Graphic Designer

Southern Sign Company is a leading sign shop in Wilmington, North Carolina specializing in the design, fabrication, and installation of a wide range of signage solutions. We're seeking a talented and customer-focused Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in bringing our clients' visions to life.

Responsibilities:

• Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their signage needs, objectives, branding guidelines, and budget considerations.
• Recommendations: Discuss substrates (e.g., vinyl, aluminum, acrylic, wood), materials, and finishing options, providing knowledgeable recommendations.
• Design Development: Utilize Adobe or CorelDRAW to create compelling and accurate design proofs that effectively communicate the client's message and brand. Develop multiple design concepts as needed.
• Proofing and Revisions: Present design proofs to clients, clearly explaining the design rationale and visual elements. Incorporate client feedback and manage revisions efficiently to achieve final approval.
• Pre-Production Preparation: Prepare final design files, ensuring they meet the exact specifications and requirements of our production team for seamless fabrication and installation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to communicate design details, answer questions, and ensure the final product aligns with the approved design and client expectations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably within the sign industry or a related field.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe or CorelDRAW is essential.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
• Ability to effectively listen to and interpret client needs and feedback.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with various sign substrates, materials, and production processes.
• Basic understanding of file formats for print and cut applications (e.g., EPS).
