to state learning standards. For more than 45 years, Gallopade has partnered with schools,
teachers, libraries, museums, and bookstores to provide titles about Social Studies, Geography,
Science, and more.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Gallopade is seeking a graphic designer to join our rapidly growing company as part of our
Product Development team. If hired for this role, you will be responsible for designing print and
digital curriculum resources for grades K-8. The ideal candidate has exceptional InDesign skills,
thrives in a structured design environment working with established templates and style guides,
and brings strong organization and file management abilities as well as hands-on print
production experience. As a graphic designer at Gallopade, you have the unique opportunity to
create resources that equip teachers to teach in an engaging, effective way. By enriching the
teacher and student experience, you will also contribute to Gallopade’s significant growth in its

RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE
Design engaging, communicative, age-appropriate content for Gallopade’s print and digital
products, including teacher’s editions, assessments, and supplemental resources. This
responsibility includes:
● Build and use InDesign styles, color palettes, master pages, font libraries, and other
“best practices” to achieve professional design results and workflow efficiencies
● Incorporate impactful visuals including photographs, icons, illustrations, charts, tables,
timelines, and other graphical elements to make content accessible and engaging
● Maintain brand consistency by ensuring designs align with brand guidelines and
maintain a seamless look throughout all projects
● Make design revisions and text edits accurately and in a timely manner
● Apply consistent formatting across large-scale curriculum projects
● Prepare final design files for digital and print production, ensuring quality and accuracy
Additionally:
● Follow, improve, and establish product development workflows and documentation
● Collaborate with other designers, writers, editors, digital developers, project
management, and company management
● Brainstorm and develop new creative concepts for products
● Stay up to date on new technology and trends to keep our products current and our
processes streamlined
REQUIREMENTS
● Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
● At least 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience, ideally in educational
curriculum
● Expert InDesign skills with proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
● Experience with both digital and print design
● Excellent communication and time-management skills
● Organization and file-management experience
● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
● Attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines
● Comfort with repetitive production tasks while maintaining quality standards
● Experience with pre-press processes and print specifications
● Knowledge of HTML/CSS basics is a plus
