Position Title: Graphic Designer

Bendon, Inc Background:
The Company, headquartered in Ashland Ohio, designs, creates, publishes, and distributes children’s licensed and non- licensed coloring and story books, toys, crafts, puzzles and related activity products. The Company’s portfolio of licensed products includes Disney, Nickelodeon, Sesame Street, and Hasbro, among others. Founded in 2001, Bendon sells into a variety of mass market, dollar store, grocery, and club retailers.

Job Summary:
The Graphic Designer is a full-time position that works collaboratively with the Creative Director to implement and adhere to standard art and design procedures set by company. The Graphic Designer is instrumental in assuring the products are within established art and design procedures. This position reports to the Creative Director. Job Duties

• Confers with Creative Director and or Art Director regarding objectives, audience, and licenses. This includes but is not limited to, beginning, reviewing, and refining concepts through internal critique and licensor feedback.

• Maintain attention to detail and catch and correct all mistakes while preparing files for print.

• Designs and Creates products to completion.

• Renders or Mocks high quality 3D samples for presentation.

• Awareness of and ability to adhere to deadlines.

• Preforms all other related duties as assigned.

Job Specifications & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required/ Bachelors’s degree in Design-related area or equivalent experience preferred

• Basic knowledge or Adobe Creative Suite programs.

• Core design layout skills, with basic understanding of balanced page composition and typographic hierarchy.

• Illustration Capabilities preferred.

• Flexibility to accept last minute corrections, re-works, and schedule changes.

• Willingness to learn fundamentals of print production and best-practice file building

• Polite, positive, and effective communication and strong interpersonal relationship skills

• Detail orientation. Ability to work independently or with a team

• High personal integrity and extremely trustworthy.

• Ability to think outside the box to develop innovative solutions.
