Overview

For The Record is seeking a Graphic Designer with 3 – 5+ years of experience to support a strategic brand refresh. This will be a hands-on design role, focused on producing assets in line with the direction provided by the marketing team and company leadership. This role will consist of a 12-month, 40 hours per week contract, with the potential for contract extension, hire, and/or a long-term working relationship.

We're looking for a thoughtful and detail-oriented creative who can modernize our brand while preserving the credibility and trust we've built over 30 years in the legal technology space. You’ll collaborate closely with the marketing team to create a refreshed visual system that supports everything from our website redesign to product launches and sales enablement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a Brand Refresh: Evolve our visual brand to combine elements of our historical identity with modern elements appropriate for a legal technology company. This includes updating aspects of our brand style guide, which will inform our future digital and print identity.
  • Produce Assets: Create new and update existing visual assets, infographics, logos, visual imagery, etc.
  • Template Development: Create templates in Canva and Figma for social media, email, presentations, sales collateral, and internal documents
  • Website Design Support: Partner with our selected web design firm to support the project with visual guidance and assets aligned with the refreshed brand
  • Campaign Creative: Design visuals for product marketing, events, and digital campaigns that are consistent, compelling, and on-brand
  • Design System Creation: Help establish a scalable design system and asset library to support cross-functional teams
  • Visual Consistency: Uphold brand integrity across all deliverables and channels
  • Company and Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our company’s vision and purpose, the customers we serve, and the products and features we develop

Qualifications

  • Three to five+ years of experience in graphic design, visual branding, or art direction
  • Strong portfolio with examples of identity systems, marketing campaigns, and cross-platform design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), plus tools like Figma and Canva
  • Experience creating brand guidelines or visual frameworks
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and respond to feedback
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

  • Background in B2B or SaaS branding
  • Experience with legal, civic, or highly regulated industries
  • Motion graphics or video editing (a bonus, not required)
  • Familiarity with website redesign projects and UI/UX collaboration
  • Experience using AI tools for design and / or video production

Contract Details

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week; standard schedule during business hours required
  • Location: Fully remote in US; Eastern or Central time zone preferred
  • Start Date: Must be available to start within three weeks of contract acceptance
