Job Title:
Graphic Designer

Department: Creative and Content Services

Reports To: Director, Graphic Design

Status: Exempt

Primary Objective: Are you passionate about graphic design and baseball? Then step up to the plate. The Mariners are seeking a talented graphic designer to join the lineup of our strong creative design team.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and creating compelling graphics for multiple applications and platforms. You’ll assist with overall Club design needs, from digital and print advertising to infographics, logos and stylized photo treatments—all while maintaining the Mariners brand and connecting with our fans.

Essential Functions:

  • Exercise creativity and self-motivation to contribute to a culture of professionalism and exceptional production.
  • Have a strong understanding and ability to design, including photoshop composition, layout building and use of typography.
  • Be able to execute designs for multiple platforms and mediums – digital channels, print, broadcast, LED displays, etc.
  • Play an integral role in developing, creating and implementing future brand styles, looks and design elements.
  • Produce content in a variety of styles and techniques, often within the Mariners brand and style guide.
  • Produce elements such as, but not limited to, infographics, logos, stylized photo treatments and commercial tags.
  • Collaborate with producers and peers to present, create and execute ideas that meet the team’s design objectives.
  • Engage in the latest graphic design techniques. Research trends, develop best practices and seek out resources to expand and evolve the abilities of the department.
  • Assist with creation of digital and print advertising as assigned.
  • Review, proof and edit content with a critical eye.
  • Work and excel in a fast-pace, deadline-driven, creative work environment.
  • Will perform other work as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred. Equivalent, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of previous graphic design experience.


Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Have a high understanding and ability with typography, layout, logo and composition design.
  • Well versed in graphic design and relevant software.
  • Advanced level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat.
  • Experience creating content for digital media, social media platforms, print and LED displays required.
  • Skilled in photo finishing including retouching, color correcting and compositing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft365 both as a tool and designing assets for applications such as PowerPoint and Word.
  • Knowledge of Mac OS and ability to troubleshoot hardware and software.
  • Photography, motion graphics and video production knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of baseball.

The Mariners are committed to providing competitive pay, perks, and benefits packages for our valued Team Members.

The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 annually.

All perks are subject to eligibility requirements and availability and may be modified or amended from time to time.
