GRAPHIC DESIGNER
The Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) is looking for a talented, passionate Graphic Designer to join its marketing communications team. Under general guidance and direction of the GOEO Marketing and Communications Director, contributes to communications initiatives and deliverables and the visual look, feel, and management of the brand, with direction from GOEO’s director of marketing and communications and executive management. The graphic designer will turn ideas and stories into assets that communicate GOEO’s overall brand message and contribute to media of all types for different initiatives and events.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop materials for printed and digital use, including flyers, brochures, one-pagers, reports, magazines, and branded templates for presentations, social media, website, and email newsletters
Ensure appropriate and consistent application of the GOEO Brand Guide across all office communications
Support events with branded design elements, including state visuals, signage, and presentation graphics
Strategically think through campaigns and execute with great attention to detail in a way that aligns with GOEO’s overall style guidelines
Create visual aspects of marketing materials, websites, and other media, including infographics
Create cohesive designs that reflect our brand standards working collaboratively with other team members
Ensure publications and information released to the media/public are accurate and consistent with agency objectives
Draw, create, or select graphic charts, working drawings, illustrations, maps, etc., and adapt them to meet specific technical or publication requirements
Support and maintain branded presentation templates and materials in Google Slides
Design, create and implement marketing projects and campaigns
Design and prepare advertisements for publications
Implement creative elements for conferences, summits, and speeches
Perform other related duties as required.
Because collaboration is of utmost importance in the design process, being a team player is required.
Qualifications
5+ years of graphic design experience
Proficient in working with Photoshop, Illustrator, and the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Google Apps and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Figma and WordPress is a plus
Experience with photography and / video is a plus
Outstanding conceptual and visual design skills, clearly adhering to design principles
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to multitask and thrive in a deadline-driven environment
A keen eye for detail
Must be able to take constructive feedback well and work collaboratively with a team, yet still be able to objectively and kindly defend creative principles
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, communications, or another relevant field
