Graphic Designer

Consulting firm in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a full-time, permanent Graphic Designer who is highly skilled and creative in layout and design to join our in-house design team. The candidate must have proven skills in creating visual concepts that effectively communicate scientific and health information. Responsibilities include developing graphics to enhance the visual appeal and clarity of publications and messages; developing or refining graphic images; creating infographics and social media graphics; and providing desktop publishing support for a variety of publications. The ideal candidate will have proficient knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to the final deliverable.

Requirements

General Requirements:

• Minimum BS/BA degree and 2+ years on the job experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, -multitasking environment with shifting priorities
• Prior experience in a government contracting environment preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset
• Excellent presentation skills

Technical Requirements:

• Experience Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro DC
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of print production processes
• Experience designing materials with accessibility considerations

Additional Capabilities (Preferred):

• Experience with Section 508 compliance including remediation, QA/QC a plus
• Photography and photo editing experience a plus (Lightroom, Camera Raw, etc.)
• Video and animation experience (Premier, After Effects, etc.)

This opportunity offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing employees to work from home two days per week.
