Graphic Designer

SUMMARY

Graphic Designers will apply art, design, and copy layout skills to create visually engaging menus and other print and digital materials.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Collaborate with the client to understand the project assignment to create and layout custom menus for various types of hospitably businesses including restaurants, bars, catering services, spas, etc.
Select appropriate typography, color schemes, and imagery that align with the client’s identity and enhance the menu’s aesthetic appeal.
Prepare drafts of design work and provide samples to clients and/or other appropriate staff or departments for review.
Revise projects as necessary based on collaborative feedback process.
Consult with Director and/or other team members as needed on complex or specialized projects.
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of design excellence.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

Proficiency in Mac-based Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).
Demonstrable graphic, layout, and type skills with a strong portfolio.
Strong organizational ability with a focus on quality and attention to detail, and visual acuity.
Advanced grammar and writing skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision, and work under tight deadlines.
Displays creative flair, versatility and originality
Ability to interact effectively with clients, artists, sales staff, and managers.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Art, Graphic Design, or related field.
2+ years of graphic design experience.

Shift: Monday - Friday

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $22.75 - $28.50 hourly
Location: Onsite, in-person

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions and/or hazardous conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk occasionally (including in the plant); near vision acuity for computer work; ability to communicate clearly through verbal interactions on the phone and in person; and fine motor skills to operate a keyboard/mouse and other office equipment.
