Graphic Designer

Berlin Journal Newspapers is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our print production team. This position focuses on newspaper layout, advertising design, and commercial print projects for local businesses and organizations.

Responsibilities

• Design newspaper pages, advertisements, inserts, and promotional materials
• Create print-ready files for commercial printing projects
• Work with the sales department to develop effective ad and marketing designs
• Prepare artwork to meet press and production specifications
• Maintain consistent branding and visual quality
• Collaborate with editorial, sales, and production staff to meet deadlines
• Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Experience with graphic design for print media preferred
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Strong typography and layout skills
• Knowledge of print production processes and file preparation
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage time effectively
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Newspaper pagination/layout
• Commercial printing or prepress production
• Ad design and customer service
