About the Role


The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to support the university's brand, marketing, and student recruitment objectives through high‑quality visual design across digital and print platforms.

This role plays a key part in UOWD's strategic storytelling and market positioning by producing engaging, brand‑aligned creative assets and providing expert input on visual identity, campaign design, and multimedia content.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for delivering high‑quality visual and multimedia assets that strengthen UOWD's brand across digital and print platforms. The role supports marketing, student recruitment, executive learning, and internal communications by translating strategic objectives into compelling, brand‑aligned visual solutions.

Operating within institutional brand frameworks, the role exercises professional judgment and creative problem‑solving to advise on campaign visuals, user experience, and emerging design approaches that enhance engagement and market positioning.

Key Accountabilities (What Results the Role Delivers)


Brand Consistency & Institutional Impact

  • Ensure all visual communication complies with UOWD brand guidelines, reinforcing a consistent and credible institutional identity across internal and external channels.

  • Contribute to brand recognition and reputation through disciplined, high‑quality design execution.

Creative Design & Multimedia Production

  • Design and deliver digital and print assets including campaign visuals, social media content, web graphics, event branding, and marketing collateral.

  • Produce motion graphics, animations, and video assets to increase digital engagement and message clarity.

Campaign & Stakeholder Support

  • Partner with marketing leads, academic units, and service teams to develop visuals that effectively support campaigns, recruitment cycles, and executive learning initiatives.

  • Interpret briefs, challenge ideas constructively, and recommend creative solutions aligned with marketing objectives.

User Experience & Digital Effectiveness

  • Apply UX/UI principles to website graphics, landing pages, and digital assets to improve usability, accessibility, and engagement.

  • Use analytics, insights, and A/B testing to refine design outputs and improve performance outcomes.

Print Production & Quality Assurance

  • Prepare accurate, print‑ready files and coordinate with vendors to ensure quality, colour accuracy, and timely delivery.

  • Maintain quality standards across all outputs through detailed checking and version control.

Continuous Improvement & Advisory Input

  • Monitor design trends, competitor branding, and emerging tools (including AI‑supported design) to inform innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Provide professional advice on branding, templates, and visual standards to improve efficiency and consistency across departments.

Operational Continuity

  • Provide design continuity during periods of absence by supporting institutional brand and content outputs with minimal disruption.

Role Capability Requirements


You are a creative and detail-oriented designer with a strong eye for branding, storytelling, and visual impact, comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Media & Design, or related field (Master's preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years' professional experience in graphic design, branding, and digital content creation

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and Canva

  • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, web design, and print production processes

  • Experience creating motion graphics, animations, and video content

  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback and manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Familiarity with AI-powered design tools (e.g. Adobe Firefly) is an advantage
