Graphic Designer & Content Creator

SUMMARY & PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This hybrid position, based in Ann Arbor, MI, requires three days per week in the office, offering a balance of collaboration and flexibility. As a Graphic Designer, you’ll be part of the creative force behind the visual identity of our marketing campaigns, translating ideas into compelling visuals that bring our brand to life. From digital to print, you’ll design materials that tell stories, strengthen brand consistency, and enhance engagement across every channel. Working closely with the marketing team, you’ll blend creativity, strategy, and technical skill to deliver high-impact, visually stunning work that supports both the brand and business goals.

PRIMARY POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Graphic Design & Visual Storytelling
  • Create visually engaging designs for digital and print platforms, including social media, email, web,
presentations, and event materials.
  • Translate strategic marketing objectives into design concepts that capture attention and drive
engagement.
  • Produce motion graphics, short-form videos, and animations optimized for social and digital use.
  • Incorporate brand elements, typography, and color theory to ensure a consistent and elevated look
across all materials.
2. Brand Integrity & Compliance
  • Maintain and evolve brand standards to ensure visual consistency across all divisions and partner
brands.
  • Review and refine materials for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Support marketing leadership in developing templates and brand guides that streamline design
workflows.
3. Collaboration & Innovation
  • Partner with copywriters, marketing coordinators, and leadership to conceptualize campaign ideas and
design directions.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative development meetings with fresh, forward-thinking
ideas.
  • Explore innovative design trends and tools—such as AI-assisted design, interactive elements, and AR—to keep campaigns modern and dynamic.
4. Production & Project Management
  • Manage multiple design projects from concept through delivery, balancing creativity with efficiency.
  • Use tools such as Zendesk or project management software to track tasks, communicate with
stakeholders, and meet deadlines.
  • Prepare files for print and digital production, ensuring technical accuracy and high-quality output.
5. Marketing Support
  • Collaborate on content creation to visually support campaign messaging, website updates, and internal
communications.
  • Provide design support for marketing initiatives including product launches, recruitment materials, and
event branding.
  • Maintain an organized asset library for reusable templates, imagery, and visual elements.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, graphic design, communications, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications or training in digital marketing or design are a plus.
Experience:
  • 3+ years of professional experience in content creation, graphic design, and digital marketing,
with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and
Canva.
  • Experience with video editing and animation tools such as Premiere Pro or CapCut.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools (Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, etc.) for ideation and content
enhancement.
  • Knowledge of printing processes, digital specifications, and social media optimization.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong creative vision, aesthetic sense, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to give and receive feedback constructively.
  • Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for innovation and design excellence.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
  • This position reports to the Director of Marketing and has no direct reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This role operates in a standard office setting with occasional requirements for flexible hours, including
evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to meet deadlines for time-sensitive projects and handle multiple priorities effectively.
