The Graphic Designer, Creative Services is an essential member of the Marketing & Communications team, supporting the SPCA of Texas through thoughtful, impactful visual storytelling. This role creates on-brand digital and print materials that elevate our mission, engage donors and the community, and promote programs and events that help animals and people across North Texas. Working under the direction of the Manager, Creative Services, the Graphic Designer, Creative Services brings ideas to life from concept to delivery while collaborating across departments, embracing feedback, and ensuring consistency within the SPCA of Texas brand.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Support the SPCA of Texas’ mission by producing thoughtful, high-impact design work across digital and print channels in partnership with the Manager, Creative Services.
- Create compelling visual assets including social media graphics, campaign materials, website assets, email graphics, printed collateral, event branding, signage, and presentation materials.
- Develop original design concepts that align with brand standards, campaign goals, and audience needs, translating creative direction into clear visual solutions.
- Work across a variety of media and tools, using industry-standard design software to build clean, on-brand visuals with consistent typography, color, and tone.
- Generate rough concepts, sketches, and/or design options to communicate ideas clearly and collaboratively during the creative development process.
- Prepare, package, and deliver final production files for internal use or external vendors, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
- Review, proof, and refine designs prior to publication or printing, ensuring correctness, clarity, and alignment with brand guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with staff, volunteers, and cross-functional teams to understand project goals and translate messaging into effective visual storytelling.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and communicate progress clearly while working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Contribute to a positive creative team culture, offering ideas, feedback, and support that help elevate the SPCA of Texas brand.
- Build relationships with volunteers and staff that strengthen the creative process and help enhance the volunteer experience within the organization.
- Serve as an ambassador for the SPCA of Texas, sharing our mission, programs, and values, and promoting ways to support our lifesaving work.
- Perform other duties as assigned to advance departmental needs and organizational priorities.

- Managing a multitude of requests and needs from all groups within the SPCA of Texas, allocating placement of such with an eye to highest impact and prioritizing the needs of programs and services appropriately.
- Keeping abreast of all appropriate best practices, technologies, and design trends to ensure an updated, fresh look for the SPCA of Texas at all times.

Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position:
- Must demonstrate the Core Values of the SPCA of Texas on and off the job.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Communications, Marketing, Web Design or related field of study
- Proven graphic designing experience with 1-2 years’ experience in graphic design environment, non-profit experience preferred.
- Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
- Must exhibit flexibility and attention to detail, be deadline-oriented and handle rejection/changes with aplomb
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas clearly and professionally
- Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc.)
- Proficient in all design aspects
- Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
- Must exhibit ability to deal effectively with co-workers, volunteers, the public, news media, community groups and animal welfare organizations.

Required professional licensing or certifications:
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and have a clean driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
