Graphic Designer/Illustrator

KG Graphics is seeking an experienced, talented, and creative Graphic Designer/Illustrator with an interest in the print production industry to join our team. If possible, some experience with illustration on the iPad or other platforms is a huge plus. More than just a graphic designer, this position will work with a team of creatives to ensure accurate printing and finishing of projects.

To ensure success, he/she will have to conceptualize visual designs for printing and digital use such as brochures, labels, flyers, business cards, t-shirts, embroidery, logos and a wide range of other marketing materials, prepare mockups, create the final designs for printing and ensure that the dimensions and technical specifications are suitable for printing. All while working with the customer to completion through in-person, email, phone and text. Our ideal candidate should have a good understanding of colors and technical printing standards, good customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating and brainstorming with the creative team to define design and print requirements.
• Rendering and presenting design mockups for revision and feedback from the customer.
• Website development and social media graphics - will train as needed.
• Implementing feedback revision and creating final designs for printing.
• Reviewing and proofreading designs to ensure that copy, layout, and dimensions are print-ready.
• Assist in the printing process to ensure color quality and consistency.
• Managing the timelines and workflow of print design projects.
• Communicating updates, feedback, and issues with the clients, managers, and the creative team.
• Maintaining the customers brand consistency across all designs and printed materials.
• Keeping up to date with the latest design trends, techniques, and printing standards.
• Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing other tasks as needed.
• Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with Adobe Suite Software.
• Operate printers, heat press and wide format printer (We will train for this)
• Interact directly with various customers daily in person, by phone, email, and by text.
• Ensure the completion of print projects by their deadlines.
• Excellent eye for detail and ability to bring ideas to life through visual storytelling.
• Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and typography.
• Using appropriate programs to create print-ready files like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design.
• Maintain a professional appearance in attire and speech when talking to clients.
• Ability to solve problems, working independently and in a team
• Perform normal office functions and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Associates and or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field.
• Experience is a huge plus.
• A strong portfolio of print design work.
• Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple design projects at one time and perform well under pressure.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new equipment, software and techniques.
• A strong eye for visual composition.
• Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
• Understanding of marketing, production, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
• Apple (mac) computer skills.
