Job Purpose
The Greece Translator / Interpreter is responsible for providing accurate translation and interpretation services between applicants, the Visa Application Centre (VAC), and relevant stakeholders. The role supports visa processing operations by ensuring clear communication, accurate document translation, and a seamless customer experience for Greece visa applicants. Translation roles typically involve converting written documents accurately while maintaining meaning and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Translation & Interpretation
- Translate visa-related documents from Greek to English & Urdu and English &Urdu to Greek accurately and within defined timelines.
- Provide verbal interpretation assistance during applicant interactions, interviews, and customer service engagements when required.
- Ensure translated content preserves the meaning, intent, and accuracy of original documents.
- Review and proofread translated documents for quality and consistency.
Applicant Support
- Assist applicants in understanding visa requirements, forms, and supporting documentation.
- Facilitate communication between applicants and Greece visa processing authorities where required.
- Clarify queries related to translated documents while maintaining neutrality and professionalism.
Compliance & Quality
- Maintain strict confidentiality of applicant information and documents.
- Ensure compliance with Greece visa processing guidelines and internal SOPs.
- Maintain translation records and support audit requirements.
- Escalate discrepancies or document-related concerns to management promptly.
Administrative Support
- Assist operations teams with document verification and data entry.
- Support customer service and front-office functions during peak periods.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely processing of applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Languages, Translation, Linguistics, International Relations, or a related field.
- Certification in Greek language translation/interpreting will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in translation, interpretation, customer service, or visa processing.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent in Greek, Urdu and English (written and spoken).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
