Position Overview

The Grid Modernization Integration Lead is a senior technical consulting role responsible for the end-to-end design, configuration, testing and deployment of all integration interfaces within Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) programs. This role serves as a trusted partner to utility clients and is suited to someone with a strong understanding of integration scope across the ADMS ecosystem, including AMI, CRM, IVR, WFM, EAM, and related systems. This role ensures that all interfaces meet functional and performance requirements, as well as the operational reliability standards expected of mission-critical control room platforms.

Working alongside client IT/OT teams, external vendor architects, project management, and technical leadership, the Integration Lead helps ensure that data exchanges are reliable, secure, auditable, and compliant with applicable laws and requirements governing access controls and data protection.

Success in this role requires deep hands-on expertise in integration of products and technologies, along with operational awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and partner agencies.

Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Grid Modernization Integration Lead role are as follows:

  • Lead the delivery of all integration interfaces on ADMS programs, from design workshops with utility stakeholders, ADMS vendors, and source/target system owners, gathering requirements, configuration, Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing, as well as planning and carrying out the integration cutover and go-live.
  • Work with utility stakeholders to analyze complex business needs and translate them into well-defined functional requirements and corresponding system configurations and technical solutions.
  • Ensure full traceability from defined requirements through to testing outcomes.
  • Review and assess technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface specifications and designs, and data mappings.
  • Coordinating with external vendors to ensure interfaces meet functional requirements and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure integration designs are aligned with the broader system landscape and comply with IT/OT security constraints.
  • Define and execute comprehensive test scenarios (FAT, SAT, UAT) covering positive/negative flows, failover, and data integrity.
  • Provide go/no-go recommendations based on testing results and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain operational runbooks, monitoring specifications, and fallback procedures to support reliable control room performance.
  • Define scope, estimate effort, and develop integration roadmaps for proposals and client assessments.

To effectively respond to client and project needs, role and responsibilities will vary and may include additional responsibilities not listed.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience leading the integration workstream on large-scale ADMS implementations from design through go-live, managing multi-vendor teams and high-pressure deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of designing and delivering integrations between ADMS platforms and adjacent utility systems, such as GIS, CIS, AMI, CRM, WFM, EAM, and more.
  • Direct experience with leading ADMS platforms (e.g., Schneider Electric, GE Vernova, Oracle, OSI, ABB) and their native integration toolkits.
  • Strong working knowledge of the CIM model, with experience in designing XML payloads for SOAP and REST web services.
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms and products, including enterprise service buses, message queues, and API management tools.
  • Familiarity with other relevant technologies including SQL, data querying, analysis and reporting, and scripting.
  • Familiarity with IT/OT network architecture and cybersecurity zoning.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to drive alignment across utility business, operations, vendor, and IT stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively operate in high-visibility, cross-functional environments.

Working Relationships

  • Internal: Collaborate with the Grid Modernization Solution Architect, ADMS platform leads, program managers, network model engineers, integration developers, test leads, and other Mosaic consultants supporting the engagement
  • External: Work directly with utility IT/OT architecture and integration teams, GIS administrators, control room operations, distribution engineering, cybersecurity teams, and infrastructure groups, as well as ADMS vendors, source/target system vendors, and system integration partners
