Ground Person – Ceres Landcare (Eagle, Colorado)

Compensation: $25–$30 per hour (DOE)

Role Overview

The Ground Person plays a key role in supporting our tree care and land management crews. This position keeps field operations running efficiently by assisting climbers, managing equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized jobsite. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, wants to build skills in arboriculture or landcare, and thrives in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support climbers and equipment operators during pruning, removals, and landcare projects.
  • Operate chippers, chainsaws, blowers, and other ground‑level equipment safely.
  • Manage ropes, rigging, and ground operations to maintain workflow.
  • Load, haul, and dispose of brush, logs, and debris.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free jobsite.
  • Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Communicate clearly with crew members to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, PPE requirements, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience in landscaping, tree care, or outdoor labor preferred but not required.
  • Ability to learn and follow safety procedures and equipment operation guidelines.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and comfort working in all weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from crew leaders.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, drag, and carry 50–75 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and uneven terrain.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
