The Ground Safety Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety systems across Ground Operations and Maintenance & Engineering.
This role ensures effective risk management, investigation of safety incidents, and compliance with national and international aviation safety regulations—while promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement safety processes, procedures, and assurance programs aligned with the Safety Management System (SMS).

Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of SMS across Ground Operations and Maintenance & Engineering.

Ensure all safety reports are properly risk assessed, with corrective and preventive actions defined and monitored.

Conduct safety risk assessments, trend analysis, and recommend mitigation strategies.

Lead investigations into ground safety incidents and accidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.

Review and approve investigation reports, including corrective actions and recommendations.

Monitor safety performance through SPIs, SPTs, and safety objectives.

Collaborate with operational departments to address safety issues and ensure timely resolution.

Drive safety promotion initiatives such as campaigns, workshops, briefings, and bulletins.

Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on safety-related matters.
Requirements
Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or a related field.

Mandatory: Safety Management System (SMS) Certification.

Airmen certification (e.g., Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/Mechanic) is a strong advantage.
Experience
-
Minimum 6 years of experience in the aviation industry.

At least 2 years in a Safety role (Ground, Maintenance, or Engineering Safety).
