Summary of Essential Duties
The Ground School Instructor supports the ERJ training program by delivering aircraft and company-specific ground training in accordance with the approved Part 135 Pilot Training Program (PTP), Company SOPs, and applicable completion standards. This role supports training quality and standardization by ensuring flight crew members are prepared to safely and effectively complete simulator training and associated qualification events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver ERJ ground training in accordance with the approved Part 135 PTP, Company SOPs, and applicable lesson objectives and completion standards.
  • Facilitate classroom instruction covering aircraft systems, limitations, procedures, and company-specific policies.
  • Administer and/or support written examinations and knowledge assessments, document results accurately.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and coordinate corrective instruction or remediation as required.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable Part 135 requirements and FAA guidance relevant to training subjects.
  • Coordinate with Training, Flight Standards, Safety, and Scheduling to support training execution and standardization.
  • Support continuous improvement of ground training materials, exams, and courseware alignment.
  • Be at least 23 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must understand, read, and write English.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
  • Must have experience and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and related software. Rockwell Collins FOS or similar crew scheduling software familiarity preferred.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Commercial Pilot certificate with instrument rating acceptable to the Company/FAA as applicable to the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, and evaluate pilot knowledge to a consistent standard.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Instructor Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience or Knowledge of turbine aircraft systems
  • ERJ operational experience and/or prior ground instructor experience (121/135).
  • Experience developing or maintaining courseware (PPTs, lesson plans, examinations, study guides).
  • Leadership/mentorship and/or training program development experience.
