Ground Transportation Driver

TIME FRAME: This is a short term, full time position.

April 23 to April 26 and April 30 to May 3 are required. Some dates before, in between, and after these periods are optional.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Transport Artists to and from the airport or hotel or other location to Festival-related performance locations. Position requires a valid driver's license, smart phone and data. Drivers will need to pass a drug screening and background test during the time period of April 6 to April 16.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Drivers are required to attend a training meeting. The mandatory meeting is on Saturday, April 18 from 2pm until 6pm. Drivers will meet fellow drivers and other music production staff as well as being trained on festival rules/regulations, exterior and interior festival routes, pick up / drop off procedures. Additionally, you will receive your driver manual, festival credentials, parking permit and other pertinent information.

  • Must have smart phone and data.
  • Must be comfortable driving a 15 passenger van safely.
  • Drivers will digitally receive a ground transportation schedule daily. Drivers will be assigned to specific runs. Drivers should review their assigned runs and make sure they are familiar with the pick- up and drop off locations and any instructions related to the run.
  • Drivers will communicate to the dispatcher when they are in place, in motion, and have completed their assigned run.
  • Drivers must make sure they have all necessary items to do their job including radio equipment, maps, phone numbers and fuel cards. The Driver Manager will assist drivers in what they need.
  • Drivers must inspect their assigned vehicle daily for any damage. Damage inspection forms will be provided for this. Drivers will be provided with accident procedures and an accident report. Please follow the accident procedures immediately following any incident.
  • Special arrangements will be made for parking at the airport and most hotels. Drivers must alert the dispatcher if any problems occur with the special parking arrangements.
  • You must thoroughly check your vehicle each time an artist or group unloads to ensure nothing is left in the vehicle. DO NOT LET MUSICIANS LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND!
  • Stage Managers and Backstage Managers have control of their stage and backstage area. It is important that you follow the Stage Managers instructions. The backstage and stage area is a working area. Be respectful of the activity that is taking place and stay out of the way.
  • While driving your vehicle and especially on the dirt track it is imperative you drive with caution and proceed slowly. Obey all security instructions and report any and all accidents, incidents, and situations pertaining to your vehicle, your passengers and yourself to the Driver Manager.
  • Performs other work related duties as assigned.
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good driving record, valid driver’s license and some heavy lifting required. Experience in driving a large passenger van or cube truck. Good verbal and communication skills are necessary.
