Grounds Maintenance

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Grounds Maintenance Technician to keep outdoor spaces safe, attractive, and well-maintained. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of landscaping, gardening, and general maintenance tasks to enhance the appearance and safety of our grounds. Your work will directly contribute to creating welcoming environments that promote well-being and pride in our community spaces. Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, aerating, and fertilizing to ensure healthy, lush turf.
• Perform landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, trimming trees and shrubs, and installing new greenery.
• Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and power tools including trimmers and blowers to complete daily tasks efficiently.
• Use machinery like excavators for larger projects such as planting beds or removing debris.
• Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas.
• Conduct snow plowing and de-icing during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible.
• Maintain hardscape features such as walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures.
• Assist with construction projects related to landscape improvements or site upgrades.
• Perform regular inspections of grounds for hazards or maintenance needs and address issues promptly.
• Support tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and health assessments to promote safety and growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance or related outdoor work preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools, lawn equipment, excavators, and other machinery safely.
• Strong understanding of horticulture principles and gardening techniques.
• Knowledge of landscaping practices including planting, pruning, hardscape installation, and tree care.
• Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions; stamina for lifting heavy materials is essential.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems and snow plowing procedures is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards at all times.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
