Grounds Maintenance Crew

Wolverine Lawn Services is hiring Grounds Maintenance Crew Members and Crew Leads to join our fast-growing outdoor services team. This full-time position combines hands-on grounds care with optional leadership responsibilities. We maintain beautiful residential and commercial properties while delivering exceptional customer service.

$18 - $23 hourly

Crew Member

• Perform lawn care and landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, landscape installs, and debris cleanup
• Operate commercial-grade equipment safely
• Maintain clean uniforms and a professional appearance
• Support snow season activities as assigned
• Follow safety procedures and company standards

Crew Lead (includes all Crew Member duties plus)

• Lead, train, and motivate crew members during daily work
• Assign work based on skill level, equipment availability, and daily priorities
• Ensure crew follows safety protocols and OSHA standards (PPE, equipment handling, vehicle safety)
• Inspect job sites before and after work to ensure high-quality standards
• Maintain crew schedules, track hours, and report progress
• Communicate with managers or clients regarding special instructions or issues
• Align team and personal behavior with Wolverine Culture and Values

Required for All Applicants

• Prior experience in lawn care, landscaping, or grounds maintenance preferred
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a chauffeur license
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and perform physical labor (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, standing)
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

Required for Crew Lead Applicants

• Leadership experience or ability to guide a small crew
• State Pesticide Applicator License: Core, 3A, 3B, 6 (or willingness to obtain)
• Knowledge of lawn care best practices, equipment operation, and safety procedures
