Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping Technician

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist with cleaning the grounds of our shopping centers including, sweeping walkways, picking up trash/litter, emptying outdoor trash and cardboard receptacles, etc.
• Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, aerating, and weed control to maintain healthy turf.
• Conduct landscape maintenance such as planting, pruning, tree care, shrub trimming, and flower bed upkeep to promote plant health and visual appeal.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks like edging, pruning, planting, and installing landscape features.
• Perform routine inspections of landscapes for hazards or maintenance needs; promptly address issues to ensure safety standards are met.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal during winter months to keep pathways accessible and safe.
• Maintain all tools and equipment in excellent working condition through regular cleaning and preventative maintenance.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's license.
• Proven mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping machinery such as mowers, excavators, power tools, and irrigation systems.
• Previous experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture practices and tree trimming techniques.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
• Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., shovels, pruners) and power tools used in landscaping projects.
• Experience with construction tasks related to hardscape installation or site preparation is preferred.
• Excellent physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials or equipment when necessary.
