Grounds Maintenance Worker Sr - West Hickman Wastewater Treatment Plant (Water Quality)

The purpose of this classification is to perform and lead landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks at
wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and other Division of Water Quality properties, ensuring safe,
clean, and secure outdoor facilities.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Two (2) years of related experience
• Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

• Leads and coordinates routine maintenance of facilities and grounds, including planning daily
  work, assigning tasks, and monitoring work quality.
• Performs skilled groundskeeping tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, mulching, seeding,
  fertilizing, and weed/pest control
• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment such as commercial mowers, weed trimmers,
  chainsaws, and blowers
• Inspects grounds and associated assets for maintenance needs, safety hazards, and reports or
  addresses deficiencies.
• Supports seasonal and emergency response snow and ice removal, storm cleanup, and facility
  readiness
• Trains staff in proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and grounds maintenance
  techniques.
• Coordinates grounds work with facility operations to avoid conflicts with treatment plant
  processes and security requirements.
• Performs related work as assigned
