Job Summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Groundskeeper to clean, maintain, and enhance the exterior grounds of our facility with a high regard for quality, appearance, and safety. This role requires operating electric, manual, and gas-powered equipment, completing assigned grounds projects, and collaborating with the Engineering team.

Qualifications:

• Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or exterior facility maintenance preferred.
• Ability to safely operate electric, manual, and gas-powered grounds equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic horticulture/landscape care and safe tool handling.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying weather, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to follow work orders and schedules.
• Familiar with and knowledgeable of the operation of lawn care equipment and related minor repairs.

Job-Specific Duties:

• Maintain all exterior areas: lawns, walkways, parking lots, entrances, courtyards, and landscaped spaces.
• Perform routine tasks: mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, raking, weeding, pruning, mulching, debris, and litter removal.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment: electric/manual tools and gas-powered machinery (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pressure washers).
• Support seasonal tasks: irrigation checks, minor sprinkler adjustments, plant replacement, pest/weed control per guidelines.
• Execute assigned projects within the facility grounds and collaborate with Engineering staff on work orders and safety needs.
• Inspect grounds for hazards and address issues promptly to ensure pedestrian and patient safety.
• Follow all safety, PPE, and equipment maintenance procedures; complete basic equipment cleaning and reporting of defects.
• Assist with exterior event setup/teardown and emergency/weather-related response as needed.
• Document tasks and report progress to the Supervisor/Engineering department.
• Communicate professionally with staff, patients, and visitors; report deficiencies and security/safety concerns.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC Phoenix roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC Phoenix in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
