Group and Private Dog Walker

Schedule (Consistency Required)

  • Monday – Friday (required)
  • Between 9:00 AM – 2:00/4:00 PM
  • This is a set weekday commitment — not a flexible or occasional role

Job Overview

This isn’t a casual dog walking gig, it’s a professional role with real responsibility.

We’re looking for dependable, detail-oriented team members who take pride in their work. This is not a fit for someone looking for occasional or “easy” work. Reliability, strong communication, and a genuine commitment to animal care are non-negotiables here.

If you show up on time, follow through, and truly care about the dogs in your care, you’ll do very well. If that level of consistency and accountability isn’t your style, this likely won’t be the right fit.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Dog Walker who will handle both group walks and private walks throughout the day. Someone who bring energy, awareness, and professionalism to every walk. You’ll be responsible for safely handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, whether managing a structured group walk or providing one-on-one care.

This role goes beyond just walking dogs. You’ll be monitoring behavior, reinforcing good habits, ensuring safety at all times, and delivering a high standard of care that clients trust. In return, you’ll be part of a supportive, team-oriented environment where your work directly improves the lives of pets and their people.

If you’re looking for meaningful, active work where what you do matters every day, this is it.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one private walks tailored to each dog’s specific needs and energy levels
  • Transport and safely handle groups of 4–6 dogs using your own vehicle
  • Lead structured, controlled group and private walks (not free-for-all outings)
  • Manage pack behavior and maintain safety at all times
  • Walk multiple miles daily in varying weather conditions
  • Provide detailed, professional updates to clients after each walk.
  • Follow precise care instructions—no shortcuts
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment during and after walks.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and pet owners about their dogs’ activities, behaviors, and any concerns that arise
  • Follow safety protocols for animal restraint and handling to prevent injuries or accidents

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Applicants who do not meet these will not be considered:

  • Reliable personal vehicle that can safely transport 4–6 dogs
  • Willingness to use your own vehicle daily (we provide mileage reimbursement, not a company car)
  • Valid driver’s license + clean driving record
  • Punctuality and reliability are critical. Clients depend on us daily
  • Comfortable handling multiple dogs of different sizes and temperaments
  • Physically able to walk 5 miles per day
  • Smartphone with consistent access for communication and visit reports

What Sets You Apart

We prioritize candidates who:

  • Have professional dog handling experience (daycare, shelter, training, veterinary, or pet sitting)
  • Are calm, confident, and observant with group dynamics
  • Take initiative and communicate proactively
  • Are looking for long-term, stable work, not a temporary role

This Role Is NOT a Fit If You:

  • Are frequently late or struggle with time management
  • Prefer working alone without accountability
  • Are uncomfortable handling multiple dogs at once
  • Do not have a reliable vehicle suitable for transporting dogs
  • Are looking for occasional, short-term, or “easy” work

Application Step (Required to Be Considered)

To help us find serious candidates, please include the following in your cover letter and/or answer them in the prescreening section.

  • A brief description of your experience with dogs (personal and/or professional)
  • Can your vehicle safely transport 4–6 dogs?
  • Your availability (confirm Monday–Friday midday availability)
  • A short answer to this question: What would you do if one dog in your group became reactive during a walk?

Applications that do not include these responses will not be considered.
