Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Group Facilitator to lead engaging therapeutic groups within our behavioral health and mental health programs. Duties
- Lead and facilitate structured group therapy sessions focused on mental health, addiction recovery, or behavioral management.
- Develop tailored session plans based on client needs, incorporating evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Conduct patient assessments and intake evaluations to determine appropriate group placement and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, ensuring comprehensive support for clients’ mental health and addiction recovery journeys.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and session summaries in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize crisis intervention skills to manage emergencies or disruptive behaviors during sessions effectively.
- Collect data on client progress and participation to inform ongoing treatment strategies and support research initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, social work, or clinical counseling within hospital or community settings.
- Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical records management.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and case management for individuals with complex mental health or substance use issues.
- Experience with crisis management, trauma-informed care including PTSD care, and addiction counseling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills for conducting individual/group counseling sessions and collaborating with healthcare teams.
