Group Lead - Data Scientist

The Group Lead – Data Scientist will be responsible for driving data informed decision making across marketing initiatives by leading a team of analysts and overseeing analytical strategy, operational excellence, and impactful delivery. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, people leadership, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.
We are looking for a proactive, collaborative leader who can inspire a team, establish best practices, and ensure the consistent delivery of high quality insights. The ideal candidate brings deep analytical experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior business stakeholders to define analytical priorities, refine data requirements, and ensure the team delivers actionable insights that deepen understanding of consumer behavior and drive strategic decisions.
  • Oversee and guide the execution of complex ad‑hoc analyses, ensuring analytical rigor, clarity of insights, and timely delivery across multiple simultaneous requests.
  • Provide strategic direction for the development of predictive models, ensuring they support key business objectives and are implemented with high-quality standards and stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead the design, development, and governance of reporting solutions, including dashboards, program tracking reports, model monitoring frameworks, and other analytics deliverables that support operational and strategic needs.
  • Review and elevate the team's analytical outputs, ensuring findings are translated into clear, actionable business recommendations and communicated effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with US and global counterparts to align analytical solutions with business readiness, requirements, and cross‑market expectations.
  • Prioritize and manage analytics demand in a complex, matrixed environment, ensuring optimal resource allocation and proactive management of stakeholder expectations.
  • Drive strong documentation and communication practices, ensuring clarity, transparency, reproducibility, and smooth collaboration across internal and external teams.
  • Uphold and enforce high quality standards across all analytics deliverables, fostering best practices in data integrity, methodology, and analytical excellence.


Required Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree (BE/ BTECH) or Master Degree in Economics / Mathematics / Operation Research or PG in Data Science/ML from a reputed institute
  • 8+ years of experience in analytics
  • Strong Python or R programming and data manipulation skills using SQL
  • Strong quantitative/analytical/programming and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Power point and Word
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment on multiple projects and drive results through direct and in-direct influence


Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Dataiku/AWS tools (e.g., Sage Maker Studio, Athena)
  • Experience in predictive modeling / machine learning

Experience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams
