Group Legal Director

A holding company is seeking an experienced and strategic Group Legal Director to oversee our legal affairs at a corporate level. The Group Legal Director will lead the legal department, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while providing sound legal advice to senior management and the board of directors. You will be responsible for managing a team of legal professionals, handling complex legal matters, and guiding the organization in navigating legal risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the legal strategy and operations for the organization across all jurisdictions
• Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues
• Draft, negotiate, and review significant contracts, agreements, and corporate documents
• Manage the company's litigation and dispute resolution strategies, including liaising with external counsel
• Align legal services with the organization's objectives, ensuring risk management and legal compliance
• Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
• Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization
• Train and mentor the legal team, fostering a collaborative and effective work environment
• Serve as the primary point of contact for legal matters, representing the organization in legal discussions and negotiations

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; advanced legal qualifications are preferred
• 15+ years of experience in a corporate legal role, with a proven track record in leadership
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
• Substantial experience in contract negotiation and drafting
• Expertise in managing complex legal issues and disputes
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
