Round Rock ISD is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Guest Educator Specialist to join our Human Resource Services team. This role supports the district's guest educator and temporary worker program running reliably for 56 campuses. This role owns the records, runs the absence management system, and coordinates placements — work that touches every campus in the district, every school day.

About the Human Resource Services Department

The Human Resource Services Department supports every stage of the employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding through compensation, benefits, and employee relations. The Guest Educator team sits within HR and manages the substitute and temporary workforce that keeps classrooms covered when teachers are out. The team works closely with campus staff and administrators district-wide.

About the Role: Specialist, Guest Educator

The Specialist, Guest Educator maintains personnel records for guest educators and temporary workers, monitors the district's absence management system, and coordinates placements in vacant and long-term substitute assignments. The role also plans and conducts guest educator information sessions and prepares regular absence management reports for campus and district leadership.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Process employment paperwork for guest educators, temporary workers, and student workers.
  • Create, maintain, and update personnel files for guest educators and temporary workers.
  • Monitor the district absence management system; train users and maintain campus priority lists.
  • Prepare regular absence management reports as requested.
  • Monitor teacher absences and vacant positions; assist with placement of qualified guest educators and temporary workers in vacant and long-term leave assignments.
  • Plan and conduct guest educator information sessions.
  • Prepare service records and respond to employment information requests.
  • Comply with federal, state, SBOE, and local board policies.
