Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Guitar Repair technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining guitars and related string instruments. You will work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and assess damage or issues in guitars (acoustic, electric, classical, bass, etc.)
- Perform repairs including:
- Fretwork (leveling, crowning, dressing)
- Neck adjustments and truss rod tuning
- Bridge and saddle repairs/replacements
- Electronics troubleshooting and wiring (pickups, switches, jacks)
- Setup and intonation adjustments
- Cleaning, polishing, and restringing
- Maintain accurate service records and job status updates
- Coordinate with the inventory team for parts ordering and stock management
- Provide estimates and timelines for repair jobs
- Assist in setting up demo instruments for showroom or events
- Follow safety standards and handle instruments with care
- Communicate with customers in a professional and respectful manner regarding repairs and service status
Requirements:
- Prior experience in guitar or musical instrument repair (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
- Strong understanding of guitar anatomy, construction, and maintenance
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in instrument repair
- Ability to solder and work with basic electronics (for electric guitars)
- Attention to detail and a steady hand for delicate work
- Good communication skills and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or training in luthiery or instrument repair (preferred but not mandatory)
- Passion for music and musical instruments
- Experience with other string instruments (e.g., ukulele, violin) is a plus
