Guitar Teacher

Job Summary
Moxie Music Center, LLC in Scottsburg, Indiana is seeking a passionate and experienced Guitar Teacher to inspire students of all ages in developing their musical skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in guitar instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and tailoring instruction to meet individual student needs. The Guitar Teacher will contribute to our community by nurturing musical talent and encouraging a lifelong appreciation for music.

Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive guitar curricula suitable for various skill levels, including children, teens, and adults
• Deliver engaging and effective guitar lessons tailored to individual student goals and learning styles
• Manage classroom environments to promote positive behavior and active participation
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Prepare students for performances, exams, or recitals as appropriate
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and lesson plans
• Collaborate with parents or guardians for student updates and feedback
• Participate in community events or workshops to promote music education

Skills

• Proven experience with teaching guitar across diverse age groups and skill levels
• Strong curriculum development and lesson planning abilities
• Experience working with children, early childhood education, preschool experience, or special education is highly desirable
• Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with different learning needs, including adult education and childhood development principles
• Excellent communication skills to motivate students and engage parents or guardians when necessary
• Familiarity with classroom experience, tutoring, or experience working with students in various educational settings is advantageous
