We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN) to join our healthcare team in the Republic of Nauru. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive care in obstetrics and gynecology, support maternal health initiatives, and work in a low-resource but high-impact environment. The position is open for short-term contractual deployment or long-term assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-spectrum OB-GYN care, including prenatal, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
- Perform gynecological consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
- Lead and participate in labour and delivery management
- Collaborate with midwives, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure safe deliveries and quality care
- Manage complicated pregnancies and emergency obstetric cases
- Conduct health education and promote reproductive health awareness
- Participate in on-call duties and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Mentor and support junior medical staff and local healthcare providers
Essential Criteria
- Medical degree and recognized specialist qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Fully licensed and registered to practice in home country
- Minimum 5 years post-specialist qualification experience preferred
- Proven experience in both obstetric and gynecological care, including surgical procedures
- Previous work in resource-limited or remote settings is highly desirable
- Strong clinical leadership, communication, and cultural competency skills
