Handyman in Building – Job Responsibilities
- General Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform routine inspections of buildings and facilities.
- Repair minor plumbing issues (leaks, clogged drains, etc.).
- Fix or replace broken fixtures, such as door handles, hinges, locks, and lights.
- Perform basic electrical work (changing bulbs, switches, etc.).
- HVAC & Electrical Systems Support:
- Assist in maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Report major faults to specialized technicians or supervisors.
- Painting & Carpentry:
- Conduct touch-up painting and wall repairs.
- Handle basic carpentry work like assembling furniture or repairing wooden structures.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure equipment and building systems operate safely and efficiently.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
- Stay on-call for building emergencies if required.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain logs of repairs, maintenance tasks, and work completed.
- Tenant & Staff Interaction:
- Address maintenance requests from tenants or employees politely and professionally.
- Coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
