Arizona Institute for Resilience at the University of Arizona is in search of a Haury Law and Public Policy Education Program Director.
The Director will assess of the need for and design of these programs; develop delivery modes that match relevant audience needs; inventory and provide access to existing related initiatives locally, regionally and nationwide; engage UA faculty, tribal and other community knowledge holders who can contribute to the content and design of programs; conduct research about and develop a suite of materials based upon these resources that will elevate campus and public knowledge; promote critical thinking about complex law and policy issues and underlying factual assertions; and model respectful engagement regarding law and public policy matters of contemporary concern in ways that inspire public trust and reliance, and that may transcend information “siloes.” The Director will exercise considerable latitude in determining appropriate objectives and approaches, under the guidance of the Haury Program Executive Director, and will be primarily responsible for all administrative aspects of the program design and delivery, in cooperation with relevant UA support staff.
The Director will seek to leverage existing University expertise and resources devoted to these ends, create, and fortify partnerships that can most effectively and efficiently perform this work, and advance the University’s research, education, outreach and land grant responsibilities. The Director will also use their law and policy expertise to influence others to consider new concepts and approaches and transfer knowledge and application of complex concepts to peers.
